THREE SIBLINGS - 2025

Materials: Vintage photo transparency, image transfers, oil pastels, painted papers

My grandmother had 4 children in her life. Three in Europe as pictured in this photo. But the baby passed away and never made it to America. My mother, who was born in the US would not have been in the photo as taken so I added her, a transparency predicting the future. And in the background are more ghostly images, representing those left behind, cousins and extended family never to be seen again, who most likely perished in the holocaust.
